Are you on the lookout for a seasoned music educator and conductor who is dedicated to excellence in music teaching? Mr. Shetland has over 30 years of experience in the field of music education and is available for workshops and clinics.

He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in 1994 and the Master of Music degree from CSULB in 2009 where he was a conducting student of Larry Curtis. He is active as a festival clinician and adjudicator for the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, and was named Fullerton Joint Union High School District Teacher of the Year for 2021-22.
Mr. Shetland was a member of the Sacramento Freelancers Drum and Bugle Corps in the 1980s and 1990s, where he was awarded Most Improved Percussionist in 1988 and Most Inspirational Percussionist in 1990. He returned to the DCI activity in 2018 as the Tour Manager for the Vanguard Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, and served as Corps Director in 2019. He is currently a support vehicle driver for the Santa Clara Vanguard.
He lives with his family in Long Beach, CA where he pursues his hobby as an amateur mixologist and cocktail historian, and also enjoys arranging music for various ensembles.
